KISS basket

Posted by matt on 23rd of Nov 2022 at 03:02 pm

last night I posted an example of a table that we could auto populate with the DVT's, (or STS's) that would be auto generated and updated daily - things like current STS, current price, distance away, we could also add things like the Demark and the A's a column, here's a list of 100, this is still being fleshed out and I would like to add new columns for thinks like Demark, A's, maybe a link to the Yahoo Finance profile etc

    https://breakpointtrades.com/ts/sts.php?chart_group=ETF_basket

anyway we have the ability to run this on all the SPX 500 stocks and Nasdaq 100 stocks, and the top 100 ETF's, is that something that would be useful as an added service? This requires additional expense as we'd have to fund at least another Tradestation account, and have it running on a remote server (another expense as well)

for the website by default we'd have a small basket and a charge for the larger basket.

for the free portion I'd include a small list something like this
    https://breakpointtrades.com/ts/sts.php?chart_group=BPT

    i think the "small list"

i think the "small list" would be fantastic especially to have diverse funds!!

    This looks great Matt !!!!!!!!!

This looks great Matt !!!!!!!!!    I'm all in for your working this up for us as soon as you can ......... and a $$ charge is just fine with me.     Thanks !!!!!!!

    I'm not seeing the need

I'm not seeing the need for the Kiss Basket capability for all stocks.  If one is going to trade it, it's not a big deal to check the chart.  Maybe others have a different opinion.

    I would love to have

I would love to have it for a basket of stocks. But I'm not sure about the extra cost.

    Excuse my ignorance if I

Excuse my ignorance if I missed this... what is the difference between the STS (DVT) and the ATR? Are they related or totally different?

    They're the same, I've been

Posted by James_Roe on 23rd of Nov 2022 at 04:51 pm

They're the same, I've been lobbying for a name change for a while, DVT stands for Dynamic Variable Trailing, Matt likes the sound, I've always thought it was redundant with two words for variable, and that Smart Trailing Stop or STS more accurately describes what it's doing.

We'll settle on one or the other soon.

    Hi James, I definitely prefer

Hi James, I definitely prefer the STS much better over DVT , which was really very confusing to me.  Smart trailing stop is definitely the way to go and will reduce questions from newbies.

    We been using DVT so

Posted by mitchell on 24th of Nov 2022 at 10:36 am

We been using DVT so long it has a nice ring to it. Don’t think it matters what it stands for, it’s a stop.

+1 for STS. Happy Thanksgiving, all.

    +1 for STS.

    Happy Thanksgiving, all.

    STS is simpler, most importantly

Posted by fredsaid on 24th of Nov 2022 at 12:09 am

STS is simpler, most importantly because it has the word Stop in it.   Could be a DTS or a VTS as well but STS has a nice ring to it.

    I like your logic, James,

Posted by mastermind on 23rd of Nov 2022 at 04:59 pm

I like your logic, James, although from an aesthetic point of view, I understand where Matt is coming from too. Why don't you compromise and go with DTS?

    I'd be fine with that,

Posted by James_Roe on 23rd of Nov 2022 at 05:00 pm

I'd be fine with that, will run it by admin.

    Maybe start with the smaller

Posted by iaranger on 23rd of Nov 2022 at 03:54 pm

Maybe start with the smaller group and see how it goes  before adding the other one  ? just my $.02

    I mean I said that

Posted by matt on 23rd of Nov 2022 at 04:23 pm

I mean I said that I would have a small list for free on the website (SPX, QQQ, VYM, and a few other names that I may rotate out over time

    Thank you Matt. NINE and

    I would absolutely pay more

Posted by patellee on 23rd of Nov 2022 at 03:44 pm

I would absolutely pay more for this.  It seems to be tremendously valuable.  Needless to say, what will make it more valuable is the coaching you and Steve give us on how to us that.  You don't just point us to a table but give us the framework and rules around how to use it.  Thanks!

    Love the 100 etf list

Does not load for me.  It says access denied.  How do I get access?  Also, willing to pay more for STS/DVT and other analysis by Matt and team.  Much more useful than the short term or day trading analysis.  Happy Thanksgiving all!!
