shows you the charts - the SPY breakout close out, the open DVDS shorts, and the new longs from the Trend/Pullback (on ES that doesn't show up until 5 pm

having some issues with Tradestation so will send out after the close

- SPY breakout system is stopping out (nice timely exit on ES breakout yesterday)
- SPY DVDS short holding
- MES DVDS short holding

New systems:
- SPY - Trend/Pullback taking 1st entry (10K SPY ETF or$5K if doing 1/2 size)
- MES - Trend/Pullback taking 1st entry (2 MESM23 contracts or 1 contact if doing 1/2 size or SH ETF in place of futures)

side note: because the Trend/Pullback is entering on both SPY and ES, if one wanted to reduce risk you could consider entering 1/2 position on each

nice that we have those shorts two entries short on SPY and one on ES. Though technically the DVDS was in a 2nd entry, so maybe we should have treated that entry as a 2nd entry with a larger position since we avoided the first 

Updated Stops on the SPY and ES breakout systems

- SPY stop moving up new stop 403.5, moved up from 402.4 yesterday, 401.3 from Monday

still a ways to go to get it above entry but nice seeing it move some every day to reduce risk

I'll report the MES stop later and the SPY stop will move around some today so I'll report the final number later as well

As far as the market, what I'm concerned with is a larger 4th wave correction soon, but I'm hoping we can still get another pop first, we'll see

the reversion to mean systems are basically hedged with both SPY and ES in a breakout long and DVDS short

the ES DVDS has 93% winning trades while the SPY version has 100% winning historical trades so far

Updated Stops on the SPY and ES breakout systems

- SPY new stop 402.4, moved up from 401.3 yesterday

- MES new stop 4110, moved up from 4102 yesterday

Technically the DVDS system has a 2nd entry short on ES, price is a bit higher than that and we have avoided the draw down. I'm considering issuing an order for a 1st entry.

The DVDS is one of the older systems, it does have a stop out level, however the stop is when the DVDS indicator gets very overbought about 0.97 and 0.98, currently it's at 0.87 on SPY and 0.83 on ES, so if prices go higher the indicator will have to hit those levels to stop out

ah that annoying daily ES bar bug from Tradestation: You know yesterday on my side the DVDS did not short a short entry, but today when I rebooted it, it shows up that it entered yesterday! Actually was good luck this time that it was not showing yesterday as we avoid that draw down. I now have to decide if we take it now at better prices or just monitor it - maybe take a 2nd entry if that occurs

this is a real problem with daily ES bars - TS and the exchange change the closing prices and I think show false prices with where ES actually traded. I've see the difference be 5  and 10 points where I'm watching ES on a 1 min chart near the 5 pm close and a daily bar and I've seen them 10 points different!

One thing I need to do is convert these daily ES systems over to a 1440 min bar - that should eliminate that Bogus daily bar crap 

The DVDS short will not be triggering now as price came back off the highs too far, was meeting conditions earlier before price sold off

FYI early heads up, it's possible that the DVDS short may trigger a 1st entry short on ES. Not confirmed of course until the daily close bar for ES but early heads up

both ES and SPY would then be perfectly hedged 

obviously went away after the market dumped, but was meeting conditions there when the SPX was up after the open

overall the systems are more long than short. We have 1 system short 1st entry the DVDS on SPY, while the breakout is long - so in effect a net zero position there. On ES we have the breakout long

and on the KISS systems we have QQQ, SPY, DIA, TLT long for the indexes

the DVDS short shows conditions being met for a 1st entry. If it triggers the SPY will be perfectly hedged I suppose. 

the system has 100% past winning trades, which is good but also makes me nervous as this could be the 1st loser LOL

ES - 2 systems,  bear long and Strap and the dvds short closed out

hi guys, just checking in here from a friends house as I'll be on the road in a bit.  

Regarding the systems the DVDS short closed out yesterday! When I spoke to James he was telling me that it wasn't going to close out. Again James is not me, he doesn't understand all the nuances of the systems and dumb things with Tradestatation where for ES futures you really need to see the next bar opening at 6 pm and hard refresh the data.

anyway here's an image of the DVDS system. I'm showing two systems here, the one on the left is the original version,  of which the 2nd and 3rd entries closed out profitable except for the 1st entry. The version on the right shows the version I will be using going forward - it also exited and notice that this one took an extra short trade in January and closed out in a day, and for this one ALL THREE entries were profitable

and many of you thought the bear market was dead LOL

anyway the close is what matters that's a long way off now

and Heisenberg, you can buy those options at better prices now!  

DVDS short still not showing an exit. Guys, shame on me but I had basically caved into that peer pressure here when that DVDS short was taking hit and closed it out with a stop even though the system was open. Yes the system took more draw down on that short than I would have liked but now what what's happening, that short is working great!

Next time I'm not letting you guys sway me when all the whining and complaining comes in. I'll make my own decisions and you make yours. But this is also a good lesson about the systems, and overall they generally work.  I find that people tend to get the most emotional right near a major turn, and that's what happened here
