Fundamentalvalues, I look forward to your posts on trading
strategy. Your approach to trading mirrors mine. Back in 2015 Matt
sold me and a few others the ES system which so many of us use. In
the first year I did very well but not as well as in 2016 and 2017
where I managed 50% and more on my trading accounts. The only
problem was boredom/greed. Not enough trades, so what did I do, i
thought I would be able to walk on water and started trading Forex
with robots and also started trading the SPY/ES on 5 min bars. Wind
the clock forward to January this year when I once again took stock
and found that my profits were being made only using the SPY/ES
system and also trading End Of Day bars on a basket of ETF's.
Have been riding this bear market with great success thanks to
Matt/Steve who warned us early in the year. I placed a large number
of options trades on SPY/QQQ (and their leveraged partners). I
prefer vertical spreads and was fortunate to get many trades with a
10:1 ratio which are now making the cash registers sing!
Please keep posting and good luck with your trading!
Sad to hear Matt, your parents are always special.
Dementia/Parkinsons/Altzheimers are ugly. ugly illnesses and draw
heavily on your emotions and energy levels. As the Maori people of
New Zealand say:- Kia Kaha (stay strong) Matt.

Yes I was the one who suggested that the W pattern could resolve
to the upside. To that end I entered one MESZ22 positions with
quite a tight stop because of the prevailing trend. I lost $100 on
that but picked up on the MNQZ22 positions that I am still
holding from the 12800 position.
Trading in the Antipodes is totally different to the way you
chaps in the USA trade. In our summer I get to the computer
at 06h30 for 1.5 hours before the close and therefore have to make
use of stops and also limit orders to catch the good trades.
I tend to trade futures and options on EOD prices. 80% of my
trades are based on BPT SPY and ES systems. I do though often use
both MES and MNQ positions especially when there could be a large
move in the making.
A " W-PATTERN". This looks very bullish with the upside
all the way from 1420 to previous high at 4300!!! That would cause
the most hurt to those with bearish positions(incl myself)
Thank you Kobie. I love trading the NQ with MNQU22. I use the
daily charts and have my sell position at 12500 where the coil and
the downtrend line intersect. Was hoping to see that today!
Even the longer term traders struggle at times with the
big draw-downs but listening to the newsletters both you and Steve
warned that the chart were VERY bearish. That did affect the way I
have traded this move down.
Timebandit, this is a solid posting and mirrors my trading plan
as well. I have been trading the ES/SPY systems since 2015. I even
bought the ES system from Matt in 2016. The present method of
telling us early during the day that a signal is possible is more
than enough for me to plan the day. I prepare my trades and once
16h00 comes along I watch very carefully for Matt's confirming
e-mail/community post. My focus trading is on SPY/QQQ and MES/MNQ.
Combining that with the newsletters/community posts where Matt
SHOWED the possible strong move down made me step back from this
1st signal on BEAR LONG and STRAP trade
I have one further suggestion for Matt. Most newbies do not
understand the actual trade through a draw-down especially trading
the Macro contracts. It would make sense to draw up a video or
maybe preferably a write up showing what could happen during the
life of a trade. I happened to chat to one of the newbies on Skype
and made him realise the effect of a draw-down and even a margin
call.
I am a strong voice for not changing the EOD signal as I am fast
asleep in NZ when the market opens!
I suggest you watch the community board where Matt will more
often than not inform us all that one of the systems could be
triggering at the end of the day. If it is a long trade(buy) and
the market drops even further towards the end of the day the signal
will definitely remain. So what I do is draw up my options trade(I
trade spreads to reduce my risk even further) and enter at market
close even if Matt was not able to confirm before EOD. Tradestation
is very clunky and often freezes after big moves. I would be happy
to explain what I do if you are interested in contacting me. Also
the SPY/QQQ etc options trade well between 16h00 and 16h15 which
gives you even more time.
Steve are u doing todays newsletter. If so could you please give
a review of the SPX 10min chart once the wave 5 is completed. What
I am interested in is what the next move up could do into a "lower
high"?
I trade options on the SPY signals. Therefore it is easy
to open different spreads(I prefer the risk management of a spread,
others may do single option).
On ES I trade MESU22 or MNQ22 if there are longs and shorts at
the same time. I have been experimenting with the further quarter
out as per Matt's one suggestion a while ago so presently I have
one MESZ22 for the latest HI-MID-LOW short.
I only trade SPY and ES. Am very keen to trade the other ETF's
but don't think we will see them for quite some time to come.
