Wow Steve, thanks for yesterdays newsletter. Your call on a
reversal was enough for me to take additional positions and they
played out like a charm. I have been trading the MNQZ's in the
direction of the main trend(down) and the MESZ's for the reversals.
Pity I cannot send you a case of Speight's OLD DARK, or should it
be a case of Merlot!
Crazy economics! When I completed my MBA back when we drove
horse carts on mixed fuel/oil medicine we learned that it cost the
Inland Revenue 25 cents of every dollar received. I would guess it
would be quite a bit higher with the complicated systems we now
have. When you therefore have to send it out again!!!! The mind
boggles. Here in NZ we have a labour government who is doing the
same type of thing. Needless to say our dollar has dropped from
parity with the Aussie dollar to 1.1. Go figure.
I use TOS for all my indicators and am part of a TOS group who
develop studies for traders such as ourselves. Would you mind if I
approached them and then post the URL on this site?
Yea I was also joking with the testimonial comment. I am happy
to pay the increased sub especially if the various ETF's could be
expediated. I only see myself trading for another year or two
before retirement ha-ha!
Matt you and your family will be most welcome. It is a fantastic
country to live in. We are in Christchurch which is on the South
Island. People often underestimate the time needed to see most of
the south island because there are so many beautiful
places.
The North Island also has many places of great beauty. Well
worth a visit too.
But Australia is also great to visit. It is huge! Most people go
East to the Great barrier Reef which is in Queensland. Two of our
children live in Perth, Western Australia which we thoroughly
enjoy. The only negative is the market opens late in the night and
closes at 03h30 or 04h30 in the morning in W.A. Difficult to trade
options that way.
Hi Steve, the numbering you use of A B C would suggest we have
now completed the D extremity. We should then be looking for an E
somewhere towards the mid, upper end of what I call a fog-horn
triangle. Question:-the trend into the Foghorn is down, does that
mean this pattern will resolve to the down side and to the ultimate
medium term 3200 target.
Well said Fundamentalvalues. I do though run up to 5 systems and
have a spreadsheet in which I calculate how many contracts for
every signal. With options I calculate a $ value and do those as
well.
DigiNomad, I have shared my spreadsheet with number of contracts
etc with a few members already. If you are interested please e-mail
me on mundy@iafrica.com
Matt is extremely clear on which systems are going long or short
and also which he closes out. i for one concentrate my trading on
the SPY/ES systems and prepare well before 4pm close with any
positions which I need to open or close. Make copies of SYSTEMS
TRADE comments in the community board or just read the e-mails he
sends. It could not be much clearer.
Early in the year both Matt and Steve did a great job of warning
us that the market was going to tank big time. In April I looked at
a number of leverageD positions on both SPY and especially on QQQ.
The market at the time was at +-4300/4400 and I placed
November/December spreads at around 3600/3700. These cost say $200
to place and the upside was capped at $2000 which is the 10 to 1
ratio. The highest ratios were obviously for the leveraged
positions such as SPXU, SQQQ, TQQQ, SPXL, SH and SDS.
Hope that helps.
