Something weird going on for me here.. looking now at the 60 min
KRE chart on stockcharts it looks like the MACD is above the signal
line but looking at the same chart on Thinkorswim and it's clearly
crossed below it.. however it does still seem valid when looking at
the 4 hour chart on Thinkorswim... any idea what could be
happening?

"Thank you for contacting us. We apologize that the missing
intraday data for March 13th has not yet been posted to the chart.
Our data vendor is working hard to recover the missing intraday
data from that day and as soon as that happens, our data team will
post the data to the chart.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.
We do hope to have this data as soon as possible.

I am in the system trade but was trying to judge entering more
long positions… ended up buying the touch of the trendline and
picking up more on the intraday symmetry break… but also just
generally trying to better understand flats as I find them
challenging to recognize and grok. Relatively new to EW compared to
many here…
I guess my question is how do you know it’s an expanded flat
playing out vs a running flat? Trying to understand if there’s some
indication I’m not recognizing…
does that mean a likely undercut of yesterday’s low before
pushing back up to complete the impulse up? Or does it not need to
undercut the low to be an expanded flat? Thanks…

I'm not sure it felt safer in the 80s than it does now.. things seemed a lot sketchier in the 80s... though i was a lot younger then!
