When you make a post there is now only one upload field for
images, once you add an image a new upload box will appear and your
image will show up in a list of files, from which you can delete it
if you wish.
Unlike the old image system you can add as many images as you
want to a single post, so there is no 3 post limit.
When you edit a post you will be able to see thumbnails of your
existing images. Clicking one one will remove it.
Some previous concerns about the new system were that you were
not able to print images and that it would not work with the
iphone.
We have tested it and it works with the iPhone but we are
planning on providing direct links to mobile clients, hopefully
this will be in place later today.
Inside the "lightbox" you will see a link to open the image in
another tab which will give you an image that you can print if you
would like to.
The new photo features are wizz bang.. but, there is one issue
that I feel is a problem. It is the need to close the window with
the close button. That adds a third "close window, go back" method
when the first two already provide enough confusion. How many of us
have closed out of sites by clicking on the X because it appears
the same as an additional window (thank you Microsoft). We are
constantly having to look at the back button to check if we are in
a new window or a new page. I think I would rather you just opened
a new window, or if possible find a way to create a new page so we
have the option of navigating "back".
I like the shortcut of clicking outside the picture to close it.
It would also be nice if clicking inside the picture toggled
between full size and sized-to-fit.
You guys are doing an awesome job with this blog! Best
I've seen.

The image will scale to the full size of your screen without
going to lower resolution, if it is larger than your screen in the
top right there is an explode button that will make it full
size.
yes, but it would be great to have the shortcut of just clicking
on the picture in addition to the explode button - i almost always
want to explode charts to full size, and clicking on that big
picture is a lot easier than clicking on the small explode button.
just my $.02 worth.

is that in a multi image post the left and right side of an
image are used for the next and previous links. That's also though
why we added a "click to open in new tab" link on the bottom.

James, can we make it so that when I have gone to the
enlarged image, and click on next (at the bottom or at
the RHS of the image) or previous, to keep the next image in
enlarged view?

I'm not the author of this particular JS library that handles
all the fancy shmancyness. When I figure it out I'll probably
implement it as a profile preference, ie: resize or not.
yes we have future cool new features planned for the blog.
HOWEVER, now it's time for us to move on to some other areas of
the website that need improvement since we've spent so much time on
the blog ately. I have some other cool things that I want to
launch such as an alert system for the watch list, so it's time to
focus on that now and get away from the blog for a bit. We'll
come back to the blog and add more things in the future
and one other thing, if you need to see the image in another
window for printing purposes or linking purposes, you will see a
URL at the bottom left of the up out image called "Open in New
Tab", just click that URL to open the image in a new page

Jroger - just click with your mouse in the black area outside the chart/picture, and it will disappear. Try it
going back to the main page

Try the close button in the bottom right, or hitting escape, or clicking on any of the grayed out screen. All of these will make the lightbox go away.
how about a zoom in/out shortcut
