this image shows all the long sub systems on ES, I have 2
versions of the bear long, both have 1st entries, see arrows on far
left side. The one at top shows a possible second entry today, the
other one at bottom does not.
it looks like James posted here that the one had taken a 2nd
entry, well not on my side and it's the same workspace. This is the
problem I've been having with ES futures, Tradestation apparently
shows different closing prices at times for different time zones:
James is in Portland West Coast, I'm in Central Time Zone. This is
why at times trades can show and not show etc, we've see it happen,
doesn't happy that often but does happen.
I have a fix though: I talked to Tradestation tech
department and the solution apparent is to use 1400 min charts
instead of daily charts. There are 1440 minutes in a day, so it
looks like a daily chart, but that seems to solve the close issue.
That said stats change and so I would need to backtest all of
the sub systems - but the settings should be very similar i.e. if
I'm using a 10 lenght on the daily, maybe it's a 9 or 11 on the
1440 and shouldn't be drastically different like 20 or 30, so my
backtests can be tight ranges
that said - my long term goal is that we won't need the ES
systems once I get a basket of ETF's because we'll have plenty of
trade opportunities from the other ETF's
Hi Matt, I am looking forward to the other ETF' s as well.
However I would appreciate you keeping the SPY system as you have
where we get signals on all the charts on SPY. Most of us have
developed a trading plan to suit and have no problem with some
being long and others short at the same time. Thanks
thanks man! I think you guys realize now especially that this
stuff is complicated - to manage on our side and can be for you
guys.
heck most other people would have the systems as their own
website only, no newsletters and other things - As James found out
last week, it's hard to manage following the systems, communicating
them, watching them intra day especially that last 30 min. That's
why the basket of ETF's can't be end of day because right now it's
hard enough with just SPY at the end of the day, I couldn't imagine
trying to communicate signals for 10 ETF's where SPY and IWM, and
EEM might trigger on the same day multiple ETF's - the next bar
open will at least make that a lot easier as you'll have all night
to think about what you will trade, position size, stuff like that
instead of end of day mad dash
I am one of those people, I concentrate on the SPY/ES systems
for 90% of my trading. Learned a hard lesson 5 years ago where I
tried to trade futures/options and forex.. Get back to basics. Find
a system that works and do your doctorate on that system.

I second Mundy's point. For that matter, I'd be all for as
fulsome of a subset of the systems as possible being available as
well. Tracking multiple systems isn't hard at all if the
signals are clearly and consistently articulated. Where it
gets hard is when Tradestation crashes and the alerts don't go out,
requiring multiple forum comments and emails to clarify, and all
that. If there was just a page that consistently and
authoritatively gave the signals, updated at a consistent time that
clearly was specified on the page (or via email) so you'd know the
signals were current and updated, it wouldn't be hard to track.

Agreed, I lost my ass one year in options after doing well in
stocks, thinking I could do the same thing by exponentially. Blew
up that account and started over basically. Then lost a bunch in
biotechs... you live and you learn...
