possible with earnings though we did break a symmetry today down 89 points off the highs, so it's possible we get a B up then C down then up to new highs after

    True Matt. But we did

True Matt. But we did have a symmetry break earlier too. Maybe we will trade between 2850-3250 area for few months with some overshoots.
probably going to be a selective stock picking type market. May not be bad if that happens because if indexes start to tank , all stocks will follow. I would rather deal with a range bound market than another crash.

    yes we did and the

yes we did and the SPX formed a lower high after that break. The QQQ's did not.  I'm not talking in absolutes here saying this or that has to happen. I'm saying it's one possibility this move down a, then b bounce tomorrow, then a small c up again.  Or we recover right away and go straight back up, or some 3rd scenario.

again the market is going to do what it's going to do, never say this is going to happen or that, there's higher probabilities of one scenario over another but never say this will happen or that.

get away from prognostications:  Trading is about identifying a trade setup where you can have a defined risk where you are either right or wrong. The market will do what it's going to do, we only throw out possibilities, not absolutes

    Hey Matt, I remeber you

Hey Matt, I remeber you recently mentioned stock market tends to hold up till the end of July. Is this thesis based on seasonaility?

Beacuse if so, the seasonaility in an election year, especially a year when the sitting president is running, is a bit different. Actually July will be quite choppy in a year like this, based on seasonaility.

    I thought Matt was more

I thought Matt was more of a "Sell in May and go away" kind of guy. It has been "Sell in May and rue the day" for many stocks this year.

    Totally agree. I am not

Totally agree. I am not married to long or short side.  That said one of the stats I read - markets go up 85% of the time. But if it’s time for the 15% we Should either participate or be in cash.
