Hopefully I can work more on these ERX and XLE systems over the
weekend, here's some results of the ERX system, the returns are
kind of ridiculous. I've started on XLE going back to
2005, the method seems to work. I like XLE since it has more
history etc, vs the 3X leveraged ETF. It's all
still preliminary, it's not something that can be programmed
into TS and automated, all has to be done by hand in Excel which
takes lots of time to get done
I would much rather short ERX vs go long ERY, I prefer to short
the triple leveraged ETF's, it's been explained before on the blog
as to the reasons why such as degradation etc.
for example take a look at the trades, some of those trades held
for 6 months! that's a long time for leveraged ETF's.

the triple leveraged funds are very hard to find to short. i use 3 brokers and none have them, FYI

No shares of ERX to short at Fidelity, so I had to go with ERY. I expect it won't be a long-term hold anyway, but who knows.
