Excellent question

    yes the trade ideas list

yes the trade ideas list and watchlist cause confusion, please go and read my post from last week, last week I said that I would probably be getting rid of the watchlist and trade ideas list and just combining them into one list of rotating trade ideas.  Right now trade ideas are in the newsletters, watchlist, and trade ideas list.

Anyway to answer your question, the trade ideas list is where Steve and I add trade ideas that we find during the intra day trading day, I don't add trade ideas to the watchlist during the trading day, ONLY at night.  We then add them to the newsletters at night and sometimes the watchlist.

The Trade ideas list is also intended for us to put short quick ideas that I wouldn't be comfortable placing on a watchlist because I may view it as a very quick or aggressive trade only.  However that said, most of our ideas 9 out of 10 have been working out and right now both lists contain most of the same ideas anyway, so I haven't really kept to that logic.  Also the watchlist is hard to maintain.  That's why I stated my goal would be to get rid of these multiple lists and just have ONE list of rotating trade ideas.  The watchlist with triggered and untriggered would go away because as I've stated, triggered and untriggered is meaningless because I suggest buying inside the patterns near support, others buy when they breakout, so then what's the trigger price?  there really isn't one.  Just think of them as trade ideas and trade them on your own, vs having a set rigid triggerd and untriggered list which causes confusion, and I constantly receive emails and questions stating; why isn't stock ABC on the triggered list, or why is the %G/L 5%, I calculate that it should be 3%.  Again you see my point.

    Trade lists etc.

"...what's the trigger price?  there really isn't one..."

So if the trade triggers aren't rigid - which I agree with - what is the "Break Point Trade"? (I don't mean this facetiously - I've been wondering all along what the breakpoint thingy is all about)

    padani - we simply draw

padani - we simply draw chart patterns and trendlines.  The trendlines are the breakpoints, but so are important MA's that may be inside the patterns and this includes charts of any time frame.  Breakpoints are simply trendlines that may represent important support/resistance areas that can cause a strong move in a stock/index once broken, especially on volume.  I chose the name breakpointtrades back in 2002 because it sounded good and had some relevance to technical analysis.   Really that's all you should take from it.  I've seen trading websites that are the last name of the person, so the name of trading website may not mean much, however I did try to relate the name somewhat to technical analysis.

For me, the data on the watch list is very helpful. I did not realize the TI list was meant for short term trades primarily. Lucky for me some have worked out at longer term trades. If you can, successfully, I hope you can continue posting the info and guidance on the WL.
