Or perhaps their positions sizes are too big. The system's
got a great winning percentage, which may lead to over leveraging
by some. I'm sticking to the multi entry system so I can
sleep at night.
Ah Matt - It's all just a lot of noise at the moment because
everyone is jumpy and excited about the launch.
You are providing us with an amazing tool and like you keep
saying, it is up to us how to use it (and gosh knows you have
already provided a ton of info in the info section - when people
are excited I think they read too quickly and miss 50% of it - just
easier for them to post the question).
Eventually, everything will simmer down. Through trial,
error and feedback, you will have it all streamlined so that there
will be less questions. To top it off, eventually, you will
have veterans on the SPY board who will be able to help answer most
of the questions on your behalf and hold the hands of the
newbies if and when those eventual whippy trades do
occur.
Love the system. I'm not looking at every tick of the SPY, I'm
not staring at my P/L, and I'm not asking when to get out. That's
why I subscribed. Once again - what a great system and what a great
opportunity to take advantage of.

Just wanted info. I'm in the 'system' and will abide - good and
bad - that's what its all about! I really appreciate everything you
guys are doing. Thanks.
Guys, a piece a advice that might help is don't watch the system
so much. Just wait for the signals and take it. The SPY system
trade should be a small part of your portfolio. Allocate it the
same as you would for a normal, discretionary position. Just spend
your time looking at charts and managing your discretionary
positions, and don't look at the system trade so much.
Personally, I usually have a bunch of other discretionary
positions, both long and short. My trading style is I'm rarely 100%
long or 100% short. I'll likely have some trades that go against
the system trade. Just let the system do its thing.
Just check the blog an hour or 45 minutes beforehand to make
sure. Matt will list it at the top of the page. He also sends
emails ahead of time(like yesterday and Wednesday) when there are
possible signals and what they'll be. As far as today's signal, it
wasn't going to do another scale in unless the market finished
negative. That's how the scale-ins work. It'll scale in the next
time at better prices. Matt was probably thinking it wouldn't do a
second scale in b/c we had a big gap up. But I'm sure if he thinks
there's a decent possibility that the system will do a trade, he'll
send out an alert well before the close.
Hi Matt...just do whatever you can so we don't stress you
out..maybe it will mean not posting as much or whatever...folks
need to look at this system as a long term thing.....it only does
an average of 17 trades a year..which is still a lot for a swing
system....but folks have to relax and let it do what it's designed
to do...don't stress Matt out.....we love the fact that he's
allowed us to partake in this system..let's not stress him!!

SPY Out
Posted by baryaj0806 on 6th of May 2011 at 02:37 pm
When do we get out? The SPY is setting new lows for the day and the trade is going south. When do we get out and at what level?
Don't sweat it Matt.

Some folks may not have system traded before and should maybe paper trade it for a while.

If one can't stand some simple volatility in a swing system, they shouldn't be using it.... ;)

The SPY system will get out when it gets out, as simple as that.

CW 12-- exactly why we need a very concrete consistent posting of info- so we don't have to keep checking it out wondering if info is udated or not !
Also a clear udnerstanding of what will be posted where.
I don't think this is noise & exictement myself- I think it's pretty basic stuff that isn't quite in place as I try to use system.
A mechanical system has to have a precise means of communication- or else it defeats the intent.
