As of now, all messages that are posted in the 'Off Topic'
thread will ONLY show up if you are in the 'Off Topic' thread!
This means that most of the time you will not even see these
posts because the blog default view is set to 'Recent View All',
which used to show off topic posts as well, but now we've made this
change, it no longer display off topic posts.
Therefore since most of you are always in the 'Recent View All'
thread, you will no see the off topic posts, which will hopefully
solve some of the childish games.
We'll see if this has the effect you want. I have a feeling the
"good posts" (funny, interesting etc) will go there and I'll have
to remember to go look once in a while which I would rather not
have to do if it was up to me. However I suspect that those jumping
on the political soapbox or doing personal attacks will still post
on the main blog and need to be deleted.How about a special Idiot's
area for those posts?
this is all very good but what about people posting off-topic
items and not marking them as off-topic? see for example all the
Bin-Laden crap here this morning...
