For years now members have asked Steve and I to include all the
Stockcharts URL's for each chart in the newsletters. However
until now, there was no easy way to do this without spending a lot
of time manually doing adding them which might take an extra 30 -
40 min, and as you've seen from our Newsletters, time is a
commodity for us
However my programmer at BPT has found a way for us to add the
dynamic URL's for each chart in the newsletters automatically from
Stockcharts! We will probably launch this new Newsletter
format sometime next week.
Here's a test Newsletter that I just put together to show you
what I'm talking about, as you can see, there is now a URL above
each chart! Also here's a quick video overview of how it
works!
Of course please
note;as you know we have a lot of intra day charts in
Stockcharts.com, therefore if you are not a Member of Stockcharts,
the intra day charts will only show up as daily charts. This
is a feature for members of Stockcharts who like to follow our
charts.
Matt, This new feature would be very beneficial. However, I
don't see the hotlinks to the stockchart URLs in the newsletters
yet. When do you plan on starting this?
That's actually a future plan of ours i.e. where each chart
would have the audio for that chart linked to it.
So for example, say that you only wanted to see all the S&P
500 charts from the last 2 days and nothing else, well you could
listen to my comments for each of those charts separately if you
wished too.
This is a very complicated thing to record audio separately for
each chart and have it seamlessly work, however our
programmer is working on doing this; I think we'll have something
like this implemented later this year.
BPT has changed a lot in the past year and we have added a lot
of technology and features, I try to stay on the cutting edge and
add new technologies all the time.
I see I am not alone in hearing you guys say "watch the
stochastics" or "the trend line" and being frustrated because that
chart is not easy to monitor real time. Adding the links is a great
step forward.
The problem is that you guys are doing such great work that you
are creating major demand to follow your advice.
Thanks for all the creative thinking on how to make the site
better and better, it is really paying off.
As a mini wish, I would like just a list of clickable chart
titles from the newsletter on the web site. It might be easier than
scrolling through the newsletter to locate a chart. Another project
for your programmer?
Well, not actually. I was refering to the charts from the
newsletter with the markups. The dynamic chart list is great but
not always the same as the latest newsletter charts.

That truly rates an 11!
For those who are not StockCharts members, well, time to join.
This feature will save you many hours of time and gives you all the
tools you need to set up your own inventory of great charts.

would it be workable to index the audio to the chart numbers in the newsletter or vice versa?
It doesn't have to be really accurate...
