Looks to be in a bull flag right now...

GDX/GLD ratio

Posted by mfogli1 on 3rd of Oct 2012 at 02:34 pm

Looks like the GDX/GLD is broken on the daily, as of a couple of hours ago.  Do you usually wait till end of day to call it official, or is it considered broken at the moment it occurs?

FACEBOOK

Did anyone catch the move in FB?  Of course, I did not.   Had a nice positive divergence on Aug 31 low, and gapped up on strong volume today.  I wonder if it can follow through here, or if one  ought to wait for a pullback...

GFA bottoming play

Nice rectangle bottom on GFA, up 14% today on earnings...

Wow! What a reaction...l

No one has said that Matt and Steve don't work hard.  I certainly have not.  I know they do put a lot of effort to make it a great site and on balance, I enjoy and have learned from it; that's why I have remained a subscriber.  I think that fact should speak volumes.   I am well awareI can cancel at anytime.

Like I said, it's a style thing.  A little constructive criticism regarding the style never hurt anybody...or maybe it did.  Wow.

No one is asking for handholding, just a little humility and transparency.  Rather than always touting the great calls, and the "should haves"  how about a 'mea culpa' once in a while.  Maybe just a style thing, but it definitely turns me off

I completely agree...

It seems Matt and Steve are never wrong.  The "I told you so" mantra on every frickin' trade gets old.  Matt and Steve, a little humility and telling us how you learn from your mistakes (that you apparently never make) would be refreshing.

XCO strong today

Does anybody like a position in XCO here?  Looks like it is in an ascending triangle with a breakout point of $8

STP double bottom?

Anybody seeing a valid double bottom setup here?

REITs lagging

Posted by mfogli1 on 19th of Jul 2012 at 04:32 pm

REITs had been one of the strongest sectors, but underperformed badly today.  Did some bad news come out about real estate today?

Yes, I agree

Look at Sprint.

Posted by mfogli1 on 28th of Jun 2012 at 07:33 pm

I hold some from lower levels, but I would wait for a pullback to the 50day to add.

Look at Sprint.

Posted by mfogli1 on 28th of Jun 2012 at 07:12 pm

Sprint (S) has been showing excellent relative strength, and is now above both the upsloping  50 and 200 day moving averages.  Was strong again today. Maybe a nice turnaround story with some upside.

Look at BOIL today...and LNG

Posted by mfogli1 on 28th of Jun 2012 at 04:37 pm

Holy volatility, Batman!  BOIL, opened higher to just under 46, dropped like a stone to under 41, and closded at 44.  Wow!  Talk about a roller coaster ride.  I guess a small position size is key on that one.  Nonetheless, nat gas stocks  showed great relative strength AGAIN today-LNG up nicely...

Would appreciate thoughts on TBT...

Posted by mfogli1 on 28th of Jun 2012 at 10:19 am

Last night I wanted to see if anybody had any thoughts on TBT.  Apparently, the only thing people had an opinion on was trading books...what good is a trading community if one's questions just get ignored?

So, again, what about TBT??

So, again, what about TBT??

Is it finally time for TBT?

Posted by mfogli1 on 27th of Jun 2012 at 07:36 pm

Looked at a weekly chart of TBT.  Looks like a positive divergence as well.

If this is a trade you would take, where would you enter?

Matt, you adding to PBR?

Posted by mfogli1 on 27th of Jun 2012 at 01:52 pm

Based on your projection, looks like we got the pullback you were expecting on PBR, with positive divergence on MACD.  Are you adding here?

Where to add...

Natural Gas Stocks

Posted by mfogli1 on 27th of Jun 2012 at 01:48 pm

Bot a small position (of course, too small in retrospect) in UPL and BOIL and have seen a sweet 2 day move.   Expecting a pullback and trying to find a good entry point to add.  What do you guys think?  RSI 2 less than 30?  9 EMA?
