FWIW gold futures (daily) are putting in a very long tailed
hammer off support as of now. This is not reflected in GLD market
hours only data. Of course we'll have to see how the day
finishes.
Re: solars that's because of the SPWRA news. I was lucky enough
to own some of this stock but unfortunately got stopped out of STP
2 days ago. Win some, lose some.
Hmmm... JMHO but I would wait for the trigger. Also you could
backtest this strategy or paper trade it at least. In the time slow
stoc 60,3 has remained above 80, $SPX has run from 1308 to 1320.
Who says it can't stay overbought? How would you be stopped out if
you don't have a trigger? Just thoughts...
I agree that Prechter gets unfairly made fun of. It's easy to
point at all his wrong calls, but when he gets it right, I hope for
his sake (and those of his subs) that it makes up for all the wrong
calls. As with any system, one has to follow it in its entirety.
Nicholas Nassim Taleb of Black Swan fame for example, has a trading
strategy that may lose a little every year for a decade but when he
wins, it's big enough for 20 years. I don't have the mental
fortitude to trade like this but I cannot fault this strategy if it
works.
Looks like you're paralyzing yourself with over analysis. Why
don't you use the chart that you've drawn yourself? If we pullback
to support you can take a position with tight stops below. If
you're afraid that the train will leave without you, start
averaging in now. Size your positions to manage your risk. Have
your stops in place. Since you wish to swing trade, if the position
moves in your favor look for a method to pyramid up (lots of info.
out there on this). This way you trade the chart and you'll have a
trading plan. Good luck.
Ipwise I noticed on the screenshot of the chart you posted
before that you are using the indicator with a time period of 17. I
believe that Matt has a setting of 23 which if you take a look, is
much less whippy. FWIW
Can't confirm this since I do not use these services, but from
what I've gleaned on past discussions you can set up the strategies
in Tradestation and use Tradebullet (a sub. based service of
Tradestation) to fire the signals in Interactive Brokers. IB has a
Canadian branch but you'll have to investigate if TradeBullet will
work with this. Tradestation has also had problems with
availability of shares for shorting integral to many of the
systems, so I know that some members use this particular setup as
IB usually has shares for shorting. Hope that helps.
Lucky you! I LOVE lobster and it can't be had where I live. I'd
stock up my freezer if I were you. Mmmm... imagine pasta with
lobster as a mundane dish. Or lobster with black bean and chilli
sauce. Or...don't get me started.
Yes, consistently quite a few. They are a great feature of BPT
and many would be surprised at how much discipline is needed to
stick rigidly to the system trades if you don't have them
automated. Furthermore they are profitable....
