The great thing about this Country is that most people vote
for President the same way they shop for clothes, they want
comfort and fit. I never thought acting qualified anyone for
elected office, but I was out voted. So, why not a comedian who
happens to have graduated from Harvard, cum laude? I plan to give
Franken the chance he deserves. He has six years, and it would be
difficult for him to do as much damage as, say, Phil Gramm did
during his time in the Senate.
I especially enjoyed Franken's book, "Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat
Idiot, and other observations".
An election is not finished when the vote is counted, only after
the lawyers are finished. Remember when 300 votes were found
in the trunk of a car and 100% were for Franken ? Amazing !
Aren't ballots put into a locked box and not the trunk of a
car ?
The same thing happened in the State of Washington in the
governor's race. The Demos recounted 3 times and kept finding votes
until they had enough to win.
First off my post about Al Franken was not directed at either
party, but rather to say we have another joker heading to
Washington and that goes for both parties...now, Pthoreson, it just
goes to show, with your statement, "I was out voted" with Reagan
being elected to office,
you have no clue
what was good for this country.You would think you
would at least have the common sense now to say, that while
you did not vote for him, he was a very strong President. By most
accounts, from BOTH the left and the right, Reagan was
a fantastic President, in my opinion one of the greatest ever.
Also note, unlike you, I am big enough to admit certain things that
go against my party. While I personally despise Bill
Clinton, I think he did a decent job as President and
conversly, I think Bush was NOT a good President, although
keeping us all safe from further terrorism was a great
accomplishment, in spite of the left and the
media wanting to see us lose in Iraq and to revoke the Patriot
Act. For you to compare Al Franken with Ronald
Reagan because they both had previous entertainment careers is
Pathetic. You might remember Reagan was a very popular and
successful two term governor of California before becoming a very
popular and successful two term President...oh, but I forgot you
loved Al Franken's book calling Rush Limbaugh a Fat Liar, so that
qualifies him to be a great Senator...sorry my mistake. You
are correct when you say he deserves his shot, because the people
of his state voted him in and they in turn will deserve what they
get from his service. Let's see how we do a few years from now with
your group in office. Lastly, since you obviously are on the
extreme left, I have a question for you...I had a tough week last
week and lost about $3000 trading, will you help me out and
send me $1500 so we can share in my losses...that would be the
noble, correct and socialistic thing to do, don't you think?
