Art, Fidelity Active Trader pro documentation states:
"If a qualified trade comes through in a pre- or post-market
session, its print is displayed using the pre/post market
background colors even if other extended hours market data is
hidden. "
What you are seeing is the 4:05 pm candle which throws off the
EMA cross.
I had the same problem. I am now using Fidelity Wealth Lab Pro
which gives me the ability to eliminate these and get clean charts
with correct crosses.

I have downloaded but not really started useing wealth lab as I
use Stockcharts. Do you or anyone else know if
Fidelity Wealth Lab pro can be set up to auto trade
Matt's mechanical systems?

yes you can trade mech sys with fidelity but you have
to apply and go through an interview process and qualify w certain
parameters, I did it but a pain in the ass

Yes, it can be set up to auto-trade. However, Fidelity will
require a minimum of 500 trades in the last year to even allow you
to auto-trade. Also fidelity has not had any SRS to short (for the
last few months that I have been checking).
But you can use the Wealth Lab Pro to trigger the signals that
you are looking for and trade them manually.
I opened a Trade Station Account for the sole purpose of trading
the mechanical systems. Plus much better commission rates.
It looks like your trading hours are set wrong also. Your
chart shows an extra candle starting at 4:00 (with very low volume)
that will throw off the EMAs. I assume Fidelity labels their
candles with the Starting time of the interval, as opposed to some
charts that show the Ending time of the interval.

Art - the one thing I see is that your first candle ends at 9:30
- your Session MUST be set to 9:30 - 4PM for the crosses to work as
Michael pointed out sometime ago. First candle on my chart ends at
9:45 as it shold be. Check your session times and if you still do
not have a cross, post a new chart.
it must be your session settings. You show a cross right
before the close Wed., it should be shortly after the open
Thursday. Unless --are you sure your averages are EMA ans not
SMA?
Michael -- I think his chart is correct although the 4:00 pm
candle should be removed. On the closing candle on Wed (3:45 or
even the bad 4:00 candle)the fast is above the slow. At the end of
the opening candle on Thur the fast is below so depending on code
the entry is short on the opening bar close or on the open of the
9:45 to 10:00 candle. My chart is the same except for the last Wed
candle

RE-Posting as a .PNG file. Original question was why the chart shows no cross on Thursday.
