just wanted to say that FED was also with drunken sailors with
their massive QE even when CPI was well above 4%. Also, wanted to
make the distinction between spending for investment (i.e.
infrastructure/semis manufacturing etc.) versus spending for
consumption (Covid era payments).

Have you looked at the details on the "infrastructure" bill?
What they call infrastructure in many cases makes the
"inflation reduction act" look like a intellectually honest name
for a bill.

Suggest look more closely. Yes, all those items are
included....in VERY small percentages of the total bill (I think
bridges are 2% of the total, but it's a stale memory at this
point). They managed to label just about any Democrat social
program wish list item as "infrastructure" and stuffed it in
that bill. For example, I think child care is a problem that
needs attention, but calling it infrastructure is a stretch, at
best (especially if you're using words to honestly decribe to the
American public what they are paying for instead of trying to get
what you want through deceptive labeling).

It may be full of pork, but it will bring fiber internet service
to pretty much every address in our rural county. In my opinion,
that is an excellent infrastructure expenditure

Could have bought Satellite internet access for the RELATIVELY
few people that need internet in the boonies and saved a TON of
money compared to running fiber to those locations, which would
leave money for other things, like child care.
If "Amtrak" is part of one of your nicknames, you might be
too old to run the largest economy in the world. Just sayin.

Would have been great 20 years ago. Like always with the Gov, by
the time it's completed it will be archaic technology and therefore
a waste of money on a comparative basis (ask Elon Musk about
this specific example)

Agreed making it available is wonderful but here in Virginia it will be 200 monthly which is out of the reach of many.
