Regarding the SPY Pro system, we have replaced all the old
sections in the Mechanical Systems section, renamed it to
SPY Pro systemand have replaced it with a new section focused on the new SPY
Pro system. You can click on it on the Navigation link on the
left hand side. Please note it's not finished out yet and in
beta form, I have to fill in some FAQ areas and other things, as
well as make a detailed video to show you how to use it.
However the Statistics are here, you can view general stats,
yearly gains, and individual trade types. Also regarding all
the individual sub systems you can view the individual trade stats
to them, however it may not be obvious at first how to do that, you
have to check mark the trade types. Note I will recording a
video on how to navigate this section.
Also I'm going with a 2 entry system, the first entry uses SPY,
while the 2nd entry uses SSO and SDS for longs and shorts.
This is already reflected in the stats
anyway it's not finished out yet, still some formatting and
other things to do, FAQ's to fill out. Once I'm done I'll do
a newsletter on it specifically. However I figured I would
let you guys who are here look at it now, just remember it's still
beta version
hi doug, a couple things:
Everyone should read this as well to understand
- we are redoing the SMS how it works, yes will be
available to all subscribers for a small fee. We have to pay
a service to send them out is reason for the charge.
- SMS goes out to the pop out alarms for the short term trade
ideas you see here on the trading community blog. These are not
buy/sell signals, they are simply alarm prices set by us at night,
very similar to how you would do on your own quote screen, i.e. you
see a stock with a resistance $10, and you set an alarm early such
as $9.92 or something.
- SMS alerts go out for trades on the SPY Pro system
- you will be able to choose both or one. A lot of folks
are here only for the SPY Pro system, and don't want all the trade
idea alerts because they average 5 - 10 per day, whereas the SPY
Pro system typically only does 1- 2 trades a month, thus the SPY
Pro system signals can easily be lost in the noise. One can
choose to turn off the normal trade alert SMS if they choose.
bohug - come on man that's an obvious one. SDS and SSO
didn't exist prior to 2006, that's why.
also, for trades prior to that time frame we extrapolated the
trades if one could have traded SSO and SDS. While SDS and
SSO are supposed to be 2X the performance of SPY, we found that
they average slightly less, about 1.91 X SPY, so pretty close.
Therefore, all trades prior to when SDS and SSO began
trading, we simply multiplied the G/L of SPY by 1.91 times.
hope that all makes sense, seemed like the logical way to do
it.
I agree that it is both obvious (of course, I was aware of
this...and thus the question) and that your "fix" is logical,
but hope you will include this explanation in your final
overview of the system, so it is clear how
your trade results prior to 2006 were
developed.
Looks Great, especially Adding the SSO, there was some talk you
will release some statistics when you use options for the signals,
from a member of BPT in Australia, are you still planning to do it
some time? I know have a lot on your plate!
Are you asking options? I don't really have a way to do that
historically. I know there are programs where you can look up
the historical price of options, however I don't have access to
those and it would be quite the job to look up all that for each
trade.
yes Matt, was asking about options, I remember, you informing in
the COMMUNITY Blog, one BPT member from Australia had some
data since you started the system?
So just was checking if he is still doing it and if he had
data?
I think you can do that with TOS possibly, but how easy it is to
do etc remains to be seen, also how far can one go back as well.
I don't see any possible or reliable way to go back to 1996,
maybe a few years or something
remember guys to check out the new section per the sticky note
at the top, there's been a sticky note at the top forever about the
SPY so it may not be obvious at first

How we looking on getting a sell call on the close?
Tomorrow is triple witching Options Expirations; I don't think system cares, but may be worth considering...

Matt:
It seems strange that there were no SSO or SDS trades until trade #225 in May, 2006. Any thoughts as to why?
