in fact you could short XLE if you are aggressive for a quick
short and cover when sort term Oscillators unwind.
parkridge - not sure what you mean by tools section, it's going
to be placed in the Mechanical Systems section, but I have not done
that, and I will just be listing trades and general info and not
all the specific rule

Matt I had the same question and I don't see this specific
answer. What technical indicator is the cause of the BPENER
system going into cash? Is the BPENER closing below it's
9ema? Is is something else related to the RSI or bolinger
bands?

XLE/BPNER- thnx Matt-- I was wondering what the specific
triggers were for system to go to cash? Is it the usual
suspects ? RSI bit overextended , stochs above 80 for a few
days- so just prudent to take it off here on big run
up? OR does system see ( & use) more specific triggers/
tgts to go long, or to cash ? Just trying to grasp the
whys & wherefores.
For the XLE system - actually the system really should probably
e short here per my 30 plus rules. However it would be a
short term short. I am personally short. Will
cover below the 8 SMA if you want to take it, you can still do so
after hr
As you know the XLE system exited its long last week ion Wednesday
via my email and post and one could have entered an aggressive
short if they wanted too long with me. Here's a link to the
post
If you are short XLE, I will let you know when the system would
cover, you could cover below the 9 EMA or when 5 Stochastic get's
oversold - short term support is obviously the 9 EMA
no - but I can run anything with it, I'm sure that most of the
Oil and energy ETF's would do fine, kind of like OIH and XOP do
well. I do not have the system rules in Tradestation as
that's next to impossible, I simply coded the trade dates so that I
can easily spit out the stats. Otherwise testing other ETF's
is as simple as me changing the stock symbol, takes 2 seconds -
since all the trade dates are the same.
BOIL looks horrid and that makes sense, it's Natgas, does not
have a good correlation with oil/energy stocks
Like I said, anything that is correlated with XLE or energy
stocks will work such as OIH seems to have the highest return out
of the non leveraged ETF's, otherwise XOP is good, others IEZ, IEO,
VDE, IXC
