I too would encourage you to consider releasing this as an intraday system.  You could also try it for a period of time.  I'll guess that you'll not have many first-time ES traders to deal with which would make the launch go easier.

    Thanks.

Matt, ES trading using SPY system via email updates!!

Posted by gram on 11th of Jul 2011 at 09:37 am

Matt, I have been part of ES trading groups using emails, it does work. No Forum, no discussions, just when you have a order update, you sent it. Most are limit orders/stop orders, so you set it and wait for trigger price.

While ago, you sent a daily table for ES profits using your SPY system, any chance you will go live with that system for additional monthly subscription price?

It is possible, I am sure a lot of daytraders here have been part of those groups, the only problem was bad trading predictions not the execution of using the Email system for ES daytrades.

Please let us know, I am sure not the only person here waiting with crossed fingers hoping for ES day trading using SPY system.

    I would think you could

I would think you could build a cool platform to deliver immediate trades to users.  Something that comes to mind would be a client/server approach where the clients are pushed updates by the server when trades occur.  The client application would then make the trade through the brokerage platform.  Interactive Brokers has an api that I used to signal trades from my application and route them to three different interactive brokerage accounts at the same time.  The only downside to this solution is the requirement that you login to interactive brokers on a daily basis because of their autologoff feature.

BTW Awesome results Matt.  You sure figured something out in the market with these results and your daytrade system.

    Matt, I was looking at

Matt, I was looking at a service a while back that hosts strategies on their servers, offer them for subscription on a forum, and run them for users off their servers.  Maybe you could leverage a third-party service like that for this system.

    hedge fund/ES??

Posted by perthx on 11th of Jul 2011 at 09:29 am

Um, seems to me if you did set up a proper hedge fund, the sheer $ volume would dissuade you from trading the ES and move you directly up to the SPX futures, no?

So the question becomes, same results, or there abouts, using SPX futures?

    ES exotic questions

Matt,  Very impressive results on your ES system.  The improved combined results of the SPY system and the ES system seem reasonable since most of the gains seem to be made in overnight sessions.  My guess is that you are primarily trading in the direction of the underlying SPY trading system to take advantage of any overnight surge and then you re buy once price returns to a normal range.  So for longs are you looking a short term overbought condition to sell or just taking advantage of the natural noise in the direction of the general trend?  Can you please give us some lessons on how to determine tradable condition in short term market.?  Thanks for the help.

    Actually I need to clarify

Actually I need to clarify my earlier comments, most of the extra trades are not in overnight session, the system scales out whenever it sees the need to, intra day or overnight whenever.  Because ES trades 23 hrs a day and is automated, it has a lot of flexibly.

Remember, the SPY daily swing system was set to ONLY take trades at the close of the day for a many reasons, such as simplicity and it makes it easy for those who work jobs or who want the highest return with as little work as possible with out a bunch of intra day day trades.

    Great Product Extension Idea

Hedge fund  sounds like a great way to create additional benefits/opportunities for your subscribers.

You'll be creating a trading juggernaut empire Money mouth

    Realize that in order to

Realize that in order to invest into a hedge fund, you have to sign paper work stating that you meet the requirements of an accredited investor

"accredited investor" will exclude many members of BPT

    Hello Matt,

these requirements for becoming an "accredited investor" will exclude most members of BPT, I guess.

Maybe there is a way to keep it simple, like it is now ...

I certainly would sit in front of my screen waiting for your intraday signals in realtime, as a daytrader.

Instead of ES I could buy the SSO or UPRO.

    No chance for that?

I'm not trying to be provocative; I'm just trying to understand why, with results like that, anyone would want to put up with the hassle of running a hedge fund.  It seems to me that you could become ridiculously wealthy just trading ES contracts.

Algyros- yeah maybe I'll just run it

Wow!  Honestly, Matt, if I didn't trust you so much I don't think I'd believe this... I'd love to be a part of it when your fund launches.

What kind of time period are we looking at for these 1707 trades?
