With a few manual calculations I've arrived at your 7
hypothetical trades - or at least the EOD entry points. If
you would, please explain your exit strategy using the %BB.
If one exits after the %BB moves back across the .50 level (on the
Daily chart) a pretty good system could develop, but a trailing
stop would also help - as in the case of the April 30th to the May
5th trade. Perhaps that's where you are using the 60
chart? This whole practice is a great example of waiting for
extremes. Hopefully, one would be in a trade while volatility
decreases and difference between the 9ema and the Daily close
becomes less than the 1.4% benchmark.
Just wanted you to know that I think this format is
EXCELLENT! Thank you for using it because it cetainly allows
you to emphasize things where needed. Please use it as often
as you can.
I too
would encourage you to consider releasing this as an intraday
system. You could also try it for a period of time.
I'll guess that you'll not have many first-time ES traders to deal
with which would make the launch go easier.
You may want to look at UPRO and SPXU since they have MUCH
greater volume than BXUB - probably because they've been
around a little longer. Any particular reason one
would/should favor the Barclay's product?
FAZ 5 min chart showed some neg D on the MACD and the Sto(14)
crossed up - both around 10am. I know you'll be
sensitive to whatever reaction occurs from the FED announcement -
perhaps that's your bailout point for the day trade.
This format is great - thanks! You mentioned before that
it takes more time to prepare so I appreciate it - it really does
help in "pointing" things out better.
Stockcharts has it with the slash. Great looking setup
from a 60 minute chart too. Lends itself to trendline trading
as the trigger - nothing fancy. Did you pick up your calls
from another technical trigger or just the news about the upcoming
decision? Thanks.
I found it difficult to trade from his recommendations of Buys
& Sells. Over the last 5 years I would subscribe for a
6-9 month period at which time I would bail out. His
marketing and testimonials sound great though (I'm still on his
mailing list). Sometimes I thought it would be better just to
use a daily chart with a 7/21 ema! That's why I'm here with
BPT - they give you an ANALYSIS.
I like the first chart of the 4minute ES - but I have a question
regarding the dotted lines a 9:46 and 11:58. Is there another
component in your system that generates the lines? The
RSI and MACD crossed up around 9:24 - 9:25 but that didn't trigger
the printing of the dotted lines - which I assume to be BUY
triggers. My own work would have given a trigger of the break
of the "plain-old Trend Line" four minutes later. This is no
big deal but I would just like to understand the system you've got
here.
The MACD cross at approx 10:48 is
pretty awesome but it's not highlighted - only at 11:58 which is
still a great confirmation.

Sounds very interesting - great post! How were you able to do the calculations? Is there a way to use StockCharts to do that work?
Thanks.

darnelds - 3-6 MA
Posted by jwave on 9th of Sep 2011 at 05:29 pm
darnelds - interesting use of a VERY fast MA pair for 60-minute chart. How do you manage the whipsaws with that strategy?
I've been using a 5/13 ema pair in conjunction with a manually drawn trendline on the SPX and I still get whipped occassionally.
However, it looks like a very good call to get into TNA.
Got it now...

As robo3 indicated, once I scrolled down to item 41 (at the end of the newsletter) the audio "came alive".
