I had mentioned yesterday how much I enjoy this indicator.  I primarily trade futures and trading the gap is one of my strategies.

for example - i was long 1281 $es in a riskless trade targeting 1292s (gaps usually (but not always) don't fill on opex fridays).  matt posted his chart contrary to my trade and i ultimately was taken out per my rules at breakeven.  Although my trade ultimately didnt pan out, it was nice to see the other side and what direction the mkt was more likely to gravitate given the indicator.  I can see this indicator being a great tool especially when my thesis for a gap fill lines up with his.  thanks so much.

    sorry dumb question

told you it was a dumb question, my mind went blank on thinking about search function

    yes as always, there is

Posted by matt on 18th of Mar 2011 at 09:59 am

yes as always, there is always something to do on this website, I would like to have a section on the website for those help videos one day, but just have not had the time with all the other projects going on.  I need a 'Clone' of myself to work on site!

Otherwise guys, please get in the habit of using the powerful search feature on the blog.  It works great.  Hell I use it every day, many times to find past posts from 2 - 3 years ago that I made!  what's also nice is that you can put as many key words in there as you want, 2, 3, 4 etc.

Pretty much every question you have has been asked and answered on the blog already, also there are tons of educational pieces.  We are all used to using the blog in the short term daily, but it's also a valuable resource where you can easily dig up info

be careful of gap indicator today

Posted by hazbin1 on 18th of Mar 2011 at 09:56 am

as Matt/Steve say, it's only an indicator, not a system, be especially careful today, option expiry and headline news.. Surprised

    LOL that's every day this

Posted by matt on 18th of Mar 2011 at 10:08 am

LOL that's every day this week.  The gap indicator is for the morning, not the whole day, and if you are trading that, then you are trading 5 - 6 min time frames and should be able to react fast enough to a change.

but yes it's Friday, today is a day to keep things light, trade light or not at all be picky, take off early, take the wife or mistress out to lunch, or both if you want some drama, run some errands so that you can relax on the weekend, play some golf if it's nice out, etc

    Some drama with the wife/mistress

Some drama with the wife/mistress or trading... which one's more stressful? lol.

    trouble enough trading
