Currently the BPGDM is at 86.6%! This is a sell signal for
the system
Here's the thing that bothers me. I don't know if the
system go
Short GDXat the
close, or if the system should only exit the long trade and
go flat? and
only short when the BPGDM crosses back below the 8 day MA.
Really hard to say at his point,

I like the GDX system, and try to follow it. I jumped the
gun, and should have waited for the close today to sell my shares.
However, it jumped up so fast, I thought I should lock in the
profits.
Matt, I may be confused as others , but I could read Rule
4 "Exit longs as BPGDM crosses 83.5%" as POTENTIALLY an intraday
exit taking profits immediately--which I and some others have.
So....thank you for all you do at BPT. I guess I see Rule 4
as its own stand alone intraday process. But I have been
wrong more than once!
Matt, you are the master and I the student but so many of my
indicators look to have more upside and haven't even turned over
that I think going short here would be jumping the gun. Taking
money off the table is prudent as so often when gold pops like this
it meets huge selling pressure, but we do live in new times here
too.

Well, if you did hold on, the price has gotten better by 1/2 a percent since this discussion began.

I too went ahead and sold. I won't go short without a new signal.

So, is it in fact like a stop and we should sell immediately? Please tell!

My understanding is that this was just like a stop and that you would wait for the BPGDM to provide the next signal before making a trade.
