flight to quality again in treasuries. seeing story that Ukraine
forces surrounded 'terrorist' held town (Slovyansk). second story
saying elements of Russian 45th airborne inside of Slovyansk. if my
history is correct, the Russians are carrying the latest in
weaponry and the Ukraininan forces are carrying older model 'gently
used' Russian weaponry. I doubt this is going to go very well for
the Ukrainians in battle, although politically, now that's a
different story as to which side spins this best. European markets
are getting rather nervous too.
thanks for the longer term chart, i had not looked at it
from that perspective this weekend. me thinks i missed an
opportunity for selling an april put on monday .
.
I like that chart, hoping it either stays in the range or pops
higher, i have some recently established may otm puts that i am
short that I want to expire worthless.
I think i shall wait for the go/no-go from Steve/Matt on
gdx/gdxj before I 'indulge' in selling any gold/silver miner puts.
unless of course i decide that we get a real blowout into quarter
end.... good trading
DANGER WILL ROBINSON, DANGER..... listened for a bit before i
got tired of hearing her grandmotherly speech. I don't know
about you folks, but i really don't find any confidence in her
leading the FED. buckle up!!!
An investor paid about $7.95 million for a trade that will pay
off if the Chicago Board Options Exchange Volatility Index rallies
at least 60 percent by May.
The trader bought 150,000 bullish contracts on the VIX
expiring in May with a
strike price of 22, while selling the same number of
May 30 callsin a strategy known as a call spread,
according to New York-based Miller Tabak & Co. The trade cost
53 cents to put on for each contract and it will profit if the
volatility gauge rises above 22.53 from the current level around
14, data compiled by Bloomberg show. It has a maximum payoff if the
VIX more than doubles to 30.
there was a seeking alpha article posted this am. UH OH, appears
the hype that rallied the stock (mid january went parabolic) was
all phony. looks like the lawyers are going to win big on those
shareholder lawsuits.
