the full moon will only exacerbate the flooding in the NY area. the media is in full hype mode (sandy is out frankenstorm is in, merger of 3 storms). already saying worse than last year when we had 12 inches of snow on my lawn. (took down trees which took down 3 poles in front of neighbors house - no electric for 8 days) comparing to storm of '38. or worse. current tract (will change) eye hits between manhattan and long island. 5+ inches of rain with winds north of 40 mph. lowering the bank reserve rate to 0% should be the catalyst to move the short end of the UST curve to negative rates, maybe out to 2 years. the question then becomes will the 10 year fall through 1%?

it is the intent of the FOMC to lower 10 year rates, probably  +/-1.00% quite possibly before 2012 is done. TBT is akin to playing with fire imho.
