fyi - i've been an ATP user since 2001. currently using ATP v
9.? yesterday watched a seminar on beta version (seminar
available on the website to watch at your leisure) which i
mistakenly thought was just a test version. apparently it is
mis-named. the beta version is a state-of-the-art platform that is
constantly evolving (that's why the call it beta). the charting
package is far better than the old. i played with it last nite and
it works about as well as the free stockcharts without the ads. the
windows 'float' if you want them. like any upgrade it will take
time to get used to it. i ran both the 'old' atp and the
beta versions simulaneously last nite. you can not move your charts
from old to new, you have to re-create them (which is fine because
the old atp had terrible charts). i tried using the .com version (i
have 3 different computers that i thought i could use the platform
from -home-work-laptop) but i thought the beta version was more
powerful. not sure if i can save layouts and transfer them between
systems (should be ok because the power of the beta version makes
up for the extra work). while watchlists are saved via the web,
layouts are still saved locally (hopefully that will evolve too).
suggestion, go to website download current beta version (the one
that was on my computer that came with atp last time was an older
model that didn't update) good trading. Haz
for those of you who were not paying attention to the calendar,
today is the day for old circuit breakers to be updated with price
band swings and associated halts. in a nutshell: if a stock falls
below zero in any 5 minute time period, trading will be halted for
15 minutes before resuming.
Matt/Steve, my trading has evolved into primarily short puts
(work gets in the way of anything more exciting). many of your
ideas are spot on (read paying BPT's reasonal cost and then some
). i'm glad you kept me away
from GDXj as i'd be under water now. like others i can't add ideas
to the blog as i haven't the time to post most days. i've learned a
considerable amount in the years i've been a member, applying that
knowledge to position ideas. and your analysis of the market has
kept me on the right side for months. Your sell in may and go away
statistics means april expiration represents a vast majority of my
remaining positions.

IEA Cuts Oil-Demand Forecast
Posted by hazbin1 on 11th of Apr 2013 at 01:38 pm
April 11 (Bloomberg) -- The International Energy Agency
reduced its forecasts for global oil demand in 2013 for a third
consecutive month, predicting the weakest consumption in Europe
in almost three decades.
The IEA cut its estimate by 45,000 barrels a day,
predicting that world consumption will increase by a “subdued”
795,000 barrels a day, or 0.9 percent, to 90.58 million barrels
a day this year. European demand will slump by 330,000 barrels a
day. Still, an imminent recovery in refinery operations after
maintenance and political threats to supply mean “it may be too
early to call a bear market,” the IEA said.
