just in case you need more 'leverage' for your next gdxj trade, i see there are now the 3x etf: JNUG and JDST (vs their larger brethren NUGT and DUST). good trading, and be careful with these as they are like playing with fire and should only be held on a very short term basis.

forgot to say thanks to BPT for the NAT trade idea. sold the jan 2014, 7 puts. rather respectable return for the time period and if i own them at ~6.65, well that would be a very nice dividend return too.

on 7/26 I sold the sept 43 puts. (just one of the pm ideas from BPT).

I'm with you on this one, virtually all of those puts i 'put' on (read sold) in July/Aug (see my 7/25 and 7/29 posts) will be otm and expire worthless on friday. . it's been a nice ride, just need a small pullback today/tomorrow so i can write some more on monday. and Kudos to BPT for pointing out the PM trades

isn't this company subject to takeover by LINE? of course LINE is having 'issues' regarding a variety of possible misdeeds in years past.

the answer is actually, yes and no. yes they will taper, no they won't give a date. it's economic statistics dependent. it is up to the reader to decide what that means. this year was mentioned more than once in the minutes (does that mean this year as in 2013 or ???).  does that mean September? maybe yes maybe no, more on that at the next FOMC meeting the week of Sept. expiry. good trading.

@ 2pm est? The FOMC will only issue a statement after this meeting; there is no press conference or update to economic projections.

try selling some out of the money puts (gotta love time decay); today i sold NEM (26's), PAAS (10"s), Slw (19's), abx (14's)and au (11's). that way i'm not trying to time the market for the lows. if i own 'em there great, if i don't, i've collected the premium and smile all the way to the bank. good trading.

on my 'put' watch list (as in selling puts) are NEM (earning today after close), PAAS and SLW (these all were positioned but expired friday), was looking for some more back testing before repositioning. oops? actually  i recall this is the season (historically) to be adding the PM stock options to my portfolio. waiting watching. thinking of GDX and GDXJ positons sooner rather than later but they are not co-operating today.

please keep discussing, this is on my watch list for selling puts, just can't find a level where i'm getting rewarded for my risk exposure. i like the look of the weekly pattern, looks like i'm closer than i thought. thanks.

fyi, typically his presentation 'notes' are released just prior to his testimony start, but for the first time they will be released to Congress at 8:30am est. so they can be 'properly prepared'.
