IF it suits your risk tolerance, you could use a hard
stoploss: 6.5%, 10%, 15%, whatever you are comfortable with.
If your stoploss is triggered and you decide to exit the trade, you
could get back into the trade IF it generates a subsequent
entry signal. That's a lot of IFs, and you'd be deviating
from the system of course, but it's your choice, as has been
pointed out here before.
The trade history seems to have changed slightly for some
reason. I copied the history into Excel a few weeks ago and
it shows the trade was entered on 4/4/02 at 112.67 and exited on
4/11/02 at 112.89, for a small gain. Oh well.

stevedfw - Just because there were 167 1-entry trades does not
mean there were only 167 1st entries. Sounds confusing, I
know.
Counting the individual entries:
There have been 397 individual entries. 261 were 1st
entries. 94 were 2nd entries. 32 were 3rd
entries. 10 were 4th entries.
236 of the 261 1st entries were winners (90.4%)
Counting the multi-entry trades:
There have been 261 trades. 167 were 1-entry
trades. 62 were 2-entry trades. 22 were 3-entry
trades. 10 were 4-entry trades.
163 of the 167 1-entry trades were winners (97.6%)
I thought you were showing the % of winners for each entry,
by entry # (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th). There have been 261 1st
entries (same as the single-entry version of the system). 236
of those 1st entries were winners (90.4%). 1 was a
breakeven.
In my post from yesterday, I was showing the % winners for
each trade, by trade type (1-entry, 2-entry,...). There have
been 167 1-entry trades. 163 of those 1-entry trades
were winners (97.6%).
Interesting view, but the numbers don't quite add up.
There should be 397 total trades. What do you think of this
slight revision?
Trade Entry #1: 90.8% (237/24/0)
The largest drawdown occurred on March 6, 2009, intraday low of
$67.10. If you look at the Trade History, you can figure
out the $/% drawdown. BTW, that trade turned out to be a
big winner for both the single-entry and the multi-entry
version.
AVERAGE NET PROFIT PER TRADE
1-entry trades: $1,076.05
2-entry trades: $1,400.41
3-entry trades: $1,830.37
4-entry trades: $2,967.64
all trades: $1,289.16
All of the above is based on a 40/20/20/20 allocation.
