Interesting that you should bring this up - I have just returned
from the IFTA conference in San Francisco and I listened to Rick
Bensignor from Wells Fargo talking about his use of Demark
indicators along with Ichimoku clouds. He applied his analysis to
gold and the S&P 500. He didn't go into too much detail but the
conclusion was the gold is most likely heading down to the $1100
area in the near term and the S&P 500 is in a longer term bull
market with more highs to be seen.
Look to the left of your screen Frank and click on long term
tools and click on mechanical system from 1961 for the S&p 500
for some impressive results. Mind you this only trades every few
years and is super long term term - for me anyway.
HG K3 down nearly 5 cents on disappointing Chinese numbers. Will
this be enough to push the general market lower? I am hoping that
copper will fall to the lows hit back in October 2011 around the
3.05 mark. If it does, I will take the rest of the year off!
. And yes I am short HG K3
The triangle looks like it is getting a bit too long in the
tooth. Also big gap to fill on the daily chart. Too volatile for my
blood but might be good for a quick momo trade.
The message I got out of it was to be patient. Don't go bottom
picking. There is no evidence yet that the bottom is in place. This
is NOT a good time to be buying GDx or gold stocks in general yet.
Wait for more evidence of a bottom being in place.

2-part question: DeMark for gold? Can one do manually?

That was fun. I now appreciate the difficult job that Ben Bernanke has. My best figures were average 7% unemployment and 2.6% inflation.
GC futures

Hi Steve,
If gold retakes 50% of today's bearish dominant candle would it still be a possible reversal signal or is the candle just too big to the downside?
