Week-long wedge on TGT's hourly

Posted by McFly1985 on 3rd of Jan 2019 at 03:25 pm

Week-long wedge on TGT's hourly chart may be in process of breaking down, in case anyone is interested. I'm finished for the day though.

RDS/B might be another way to play it. This one is also steep and doesn't have ideal divergence, but it might provide a tradeable break.

No problem, Matt. Trying to do more day trading in 2019, so you might be seeing more intraday ideas from me. (Unless I end up sucking at it. We'll see...)

Just under $140 might be a logical place for AAPL to bounce, if this trendline holds:

SLG and TSCO might be good intraday short candidates on the hourly chart if the sell-off continues:

Looks like Stockcharts.com  just removed yesterday's gap. Looks much better!

@ JimSim - You may be right, although given my luck I doubt the uranium bull would start immediately. In fact, I probably pushed its start out at least a year or two by my involvement! :p But I plan on being patient and accumulating slowly on the (no doubt many) dips that happen in the next year or two. I've been accumulating precious metals since 2014, so I think I have the patience for it. We'll see what happens.

Uranium Stocks: I know that

Uranium Stocks: I know that we're not as much into fundamentals here (nor am I), but I just bought my first uranium stocks (for buy and hold, that is) in 10 years. Some of you may remember the big uranium boom around 2006 and 2007. The number of uranium stocks went from something like 5 to 700, but the 2007-to-present bear market has reduced them from about 700 stocks to about 25 or 30 (and appropriately so, because most of them were crap). In any case, I plan on acquiring good uranium stocks throughout 2019 since I believe there will be a big uranium production shortfall in 3-5 years, and companies that are either producing uranium or looking for deposits could do extremely well. So, if you're looking for a fundamental opportunity that's still early and may turn into something big in a few years, then you might want to do a bit of research on the uranium market. FYI the 3 companies I bought were DNN, UEC, and URG.  A few companies that I'm looking to buy at lower prices are CCJ (the big producer), UUUU, and FCU.TO. Since we're probably in a bear market, I have no problem believing that we'll have good uranium stock buying opportunities in 2019. (Disclosure: Another reason I'm looking to acquire uranium stocks is to get fuel for my Delorean, so I can go back in time and get Biff's almanac!)

Wow! Just woke up from a nap, and exited my SPY position in the after-market.

I think he was suggesting that NEM was the one stock above its 20 dma.

Nice one, Mla217. Where's the "like" button? :)

Too early to tell, but

Too early to tell, but if we can break out of this wedge-like pattern on the intraday SPY, could get a double bottom: http://schrts.co/4nEMq9

$SPX (first chart) just hit

$SPX (first chart) just hit its symmetry target (matching the previous 2 declines today). Also, the $INDU (2nd chart) is very close to tagging Matt's first target.

I bet that if someone here was to buy a bunch of short-term calls and declare the decline to be over, we'd immediately get the final sell-off. Volunteers, anyone? :p

QQQ just went below its February low. http://schrts.co/g2WUZs

I certainly hope so, but even if not, we're most likely close to a bottom. I'd rather be buying here than shorting. But that's what I was thinking about crude a week ago...

I guess DVMT wasn't meant to be. Got stopped out. I knew that was a risk, though.
