matt,
I've read and heard you talk about deflation increasing later in
the year...which we could probably use....I just took my family me
the wife and 2 kids to the movies this weekend @ 4:30PM
Sat....$13.75 for adults...10.75 for kids..almost $50 just to get
into the door...after food and drinks $80.....last year the same
timframe we're talking less than $50......when I go to the grocery
store...no deflation??
Only deflation out there is housing, jobs and salaries...not
prices of goods and services...
Just my observations and the way the US gov't calculates
stuff...none of this matters...they tell us what they want

But Dylan haven't you heard about all the jobs they are going to
SAVE between the energy bill and health care bill, not to mention
the unspent stimulus money? All is well - we are going to save all
the jobs - and have new clean energy jobs (not sure what the dirty
energy workers will be doing but let's not talk semantics...). And
what about all the self employed - like the folks on Craig's list
working for far less, and working far less. It's a big giant mess
that's for sure.
Dylan, this is just another way our government lies to us.
If they told the truth about the REAL inflation cost they would
have to increase social security payments and health care
because they are to be based on the cost of living.
For years, have you noticed how product sizes have been
shrinking? Cups of Yogurt used to be 8 oz. now 6, but the price of
the cup of yogurt hasn't gone up. Therefore with this accounting
method there is no inflation. and this is only one expamle.

the inflation numbers arre manipulated by the gov't....now they
can put the series I bonds at zero percent....base rate plus or
minus the rate of inflation. they just moved the rate of inflation
to negative...so now the interest is zero...how much $$$ does that
save them.....no inflation my left cheek indeed....gas food et
al....prices are higher.....now we know the game though dont
we?
there was a good article a few months ago -- someone posted it
-- with a lot of the statistics. If inflation was calculated
today the way it was calculated 30 years ago, Social Security
payments would be much much higher.
that's true..I was just commenting the other day that the snack
machine here @ work...the bag of "Fritos" which cost 75 cents last
year is now $1...and 2 oz less...

deflation is defintately apparent, you ever use craigs list? that's where the deals on on
services & goods, i got my boat reupolstered for 50% less than last year.
the movies are a bad gauge, during the depression and big recessions the movie
industry booms. where else can you take your family for $50? nowhere.
anyway what did you see? have you seen hangover?
Title: OT yeah...we took the kids

Problem is with wages going lower either from no pay increase or fewer hours, and prices going higher - we are not in a good place.

yes..and they're woried about Climate change and healthcare.....with 13% unemployment let's recalculate our revenue forecasts....job creation needs to be #1 agenda.
