that's the problem with these EV's, I like EV's, but they are
like driveable smartphones, EV's last one cycle and and then
landfill. Who wants to buy a 2012 Tesla for example, where the
battery probably gets 100 miles, and then spend $25 - 30K for a new
battery to make it viable again?
No problem buying an ICE car from 2012, or even say a Honda
Civic or Toyota from the late 90's as a beater car - it's cheap,
it's cheap to fix etc.
honestly these days hybrids make the most sense. Again I like
EV's and they need to produced because that's how the tech improves
over time, by working on it. What I don't is forcing it down
people's throats before it's ready. As EV's get better, better
batteries, ways to recycle them, ways to use EV's more than one
cycle vs landfilling them, as they get better they will naturally
start to replace ICE cars. Forcing it artificially never works
well. Ultimately there needs to be plans and systems in place for
recycling and replacing batteries so that EV's can be used for 2 or
3 generations, not one 5 - 8 year generation then throwing it in a
landfill
And these days, just seems like so many stupid people. I see
these young people arguing that we need to end and stop using all
oil and gas like RIGHT NOW, flip a switch - they think it's just
easy switch you turn on and BOOM, everything is green, no more oil
use. Let me tell you, if we did that - society would collapse, mass
starvation, GenZers wouldn't be able to get their Starbucks coffee.
no common sense amount all these people. Some of these
geniuses are the same ones who throw tomato soup onto priceless
paintings in a museum
A news article I saw the other day was about this big group
trying to sue the oil and gas companies for trillions of dollars to
bankrupt them - their argument is that they didn't inform the
public about the dangers of fossil fuels and global
warming/pollution etc. Really? That's the job of the
government and businesses, agencies who make policy, not the job of
a manufacturer - that's grand policy change, not the responsibility
of oil companies? I shoot my neighbor, and they sue the gun
manufacture?

Loved your rant. With those too geriatrics battling for the president you should throw your hat in, at least you make sense, they do not.
Agree on hybrid but only

Agree on hybrid but only Toyota or Honda tech. Otherwise you are looking to replace that battery < 150K miles. Other brands, just buy an ICE.
