I think your better off with the weekly STS on the weekly level
if its longer term money. The weekly doesnt get it very often
unless market is really breaking down imho.

Agree in principle, but big difference between putting new money
to work and setting stops on money that has been in the market.
If the gap to the stop is too wide (from current price),
deploying new funds is that much more risky.

QQQ STS - currently sitting a couple pennies below. Would have been hit if a hard stop was set
SPY STS - missed by about 20 cents this morning. Stop would not have been hit.
