Steve, why is ES your primary reference? I assume you trade
futures? Do a lot of other people on here also trade ES? Just
wondering because it's confusing for me as a SPX and SPY trader
(those are much closer to each other in nominal terms).
Very heavy selling in this

It trades around the clock

It trades around the clock so that's why - you can apply to the SPX
I for one virtually only

I for one virtually only trade futures because of living in New Zealand. I use ES, NQ, YM, RTY, GC and MBT.
SPX does also...it's just not

SPX does also...it's just not available as easily as ES on many platforms. (I think it trades 23.5 hours per day...but I could be off on that).
It doesn't really apply well to SPX. It's a 25 point delta right now and was 30 point delta 15 minutes ago.
No it does not it

No it does not it closes at 4 pm EST -currently there is a 20 point difference to SPX and ES just adjust to SPX
I make after hours trades

I make after hours trades in SPX all the time. On the CBOE website they advertise it as a 24/5 product.
You make after hours trades
Posted by steve on 4th of Aug 2023 at 02:35 pm
You make after hours trades but the index closes at 4 pm. Just take my levels and adjust the the SPX (simple)
ES is the SPX futures - SPX is a cash index with regular trading hours (that' why they ring the bell)
I rarely trade SPY at

I rarely trade SPY at all. Only for really small accounts.
I have been trading more
Posted by DigiNomad on 4th of Aug 2023 at 02:39 pm
I have been trading more in the overnight since I figured out the OANDA trick in Trading View (thanks for that BTW)
Yes I told you about

Yes I told you about OANDA but Futures have tax benefits as well
The tax benefits are why
Posted by DigiNomad on 4th of Aug 2023 at 02:41 pm
The tax benefits are why I stick with SPX and NDX. Same as futures. 60/40 treatment.
They are ripping thru support

They are ripping thru support levels - so remain cautious here
