Don't worry about the distance focus on support and resistance levels of the security/chart you are trading

    Two people I happen to

Two people I happen to read seemed confused by the sudden pop in the gold price chart with the rollover to December contracts. Like they never saw that before.  It surprised me.  Anyways. Now I know. Thanks.

    I see MGC Dec trading

I see MGC Dec trading about 20 dollars higher than October, and Dec is trading almost 40 over Aug - however one shouldn't be trading Aug gold futures now, they have or are very soon rolling over, everyone is trading the October contract so that's really the current contract, which is only 20 off. Also the Dec trading 20 higher than Oct is normal - generally the futures months trade higher, or traders are betting that it will be higher. I don't see anything out of norm here

    I'm trading the GC December

I'm trading the GC December contract personally - that is the current default contract

yes all you have to do is look at the volume: Dec has traded 33K contracts today vs 3.4K only for Oct
