I haven't tested for traditional stops - for the SPY and DIA
volatility systems they are simply looking to close out the
trade on a close back below the 8 SMA
and as I stated in my late newsletter, I still have testing to
do, adding my trending component to hold some trades longer,
scaleouts, and maybe stops. But otherwise all close out after a
move above fast MA length such as an 8 SMA.
here's the trades for this year as they are now - which will
improve
and here's an example of the nuances to this stuff - today DIA
and SPY will trigger short - BUT hasn't showed up on the chart yet,
why? because VXD and VIX trade until 4:15 so the trade will pop up
at that time.
To get that data sets matching properly I need to convert all
these daily charts to 1440 min and then set a custom time session
to have both data sets end at the same time.
right now the SPY and DIA end at 4PM and the VIX and VXD end at
4:15 - they don't match
again just BS stuff to do with that you guys don't have idea
about the the nuances of this stuff
