System update

Posted by matt on 27th of Apr 2023 at 02:32 pm

Update on the systems: First off good thing the DVDS short covered 1/2 yesterday. And we also had that 3rd system go long via the SPY QE BTS but only took 1/2

that said - all the long systems are looking to close:

    - Trend/Pullback for SPY and ES, and QE BTS for SPY

    thanks for the heads up

Posted by junkie on 27th of Apr 2023 at 02:39 pm

Matt, is DVDS looking for another drop in order to exit its position? I am referring to the proverbial wave C down as part of wave 4.

Edit: We might be following a path similar to that in November of last year.

    it is not, the issue

Posted by matt on 27th of Apr 2023 at 02:41 pm

it is not, the issue with that system is the DVDS stop out is like 0.98, which would require a good sustained rally to hit that, would take out recent highs and go for a bit-  which I would rather not have folks sit through that. Nice that the system reduced it's size by 1/2 yesterday and locked in some gains. I could close it out but I also may choose to wait for a pullback here then close out - but with that info you can choose to do what you want

WOW, filled that 3rd thin zone, amazing! We filled 3 thin zones today

think about this: your strategy was to go long every time ES moved up into the thin zones with the assumeption that price would fill it - I've seen that play out over and over again, love seeing those thin zones

going forward I'll post these more often - and save the Tradingview chart

    Question is, where does it

We had some decent ND on that last push up, but sure not in a hurry to pull back much.

    From a fresh supply zone

From a fresh supply zone to a fresh demand zone, ... and back. A super profitable subsystem if only it could be coded in Tradestation!

    write up the exact rules

write up the exact rules with detailed examples and we can code it

    I take up your offer.

Posted by junkie on 27th of Apr 2023 at 03:11 pm

I take up your offer.  As a concept, take an entry in supply or demand zone coupled with a weak momentum or divergence for a reversal trade. Take another entry in the next supply/demand zone. Wait for a move into the opposite zone to exit partially or fully. This is provided that market is range bound within ichimoku cloud on the weekly or monthly chart.

Buying pullback on a pullback to the nearest "strong" (based on good volume spent there) demand zone if the momentum is strong and indicate higher prices.

This could be subdivided further into 3  thirds of the distance between the demand and supply zone. Do nothing in the middle third, allow trades in the other thirds close to the supply/demand zones on the first visit.

I will pass along your way good videos demonstrating this method if I see them.
