    DBC - Chart Link- daily

DBC - Chart Link- once price breaks out of this pattern, could start a trend move

    Matt, would you agree that

Matt, would you agree that DBC is a little hard to predict based on technicals because it has a lot of oil based components in it, and if it breaks out, there will be immense political pressure to tamp it down again (SPR releases, threats about taxing "excess" profits, etc)?

I have always approached DBC with covered calls, thankfully, because the political component has often made it a widowmaker for naked longs on the stock (including recently). I've been doing it for years so I have a long term gain on the underlying at this point. My current call strike is 24. Thinking about rolling it up to 25, but afraid that Government will intervene in one form or another. *Note: I almost never let things get called away. I don't understand when I hear fund managers talk about that risk. Seems to me that they are just too lazy to roll out instead of allowing a position to get called away (and then be stuck with a taxable event, reinvestment risk, etc.).  I suppose their positions might be too large to roll effectively - DBC isn't the most liquid when it comes to options....but I'm not a large player.
