I'm through about 40% of the SPY systems for next bar open, most
of the longs, will move to shorts next week. Most of the systems
I've been able to get similar or better results on the historical
stats. A few systems though I may or may not consider leaving
closing bar such as CCI, and Hi Mid Lo. The CCI systems tend to
enter on an up candle anyway and waiting another day to enter is
maybe not as ideal. And for very short term holding systems like
the hi mid low that hold an average of 3-4 days, statistically
moving it to the following morning is 25% of the historical time.
Again still too early for me to make decisions here, I'm just
relaying some info.
the other tough thing is the 2nd and 3rd entries. It's difficult
getting the code working right and I'm waiting on a new version
from James that hopefully does what I want.
The 2nd and 3rd entries instructions will be different than what
you guys are used to now:
For example if a system is taking a second entry - that entry
will be NOT just be at the next morning open -
I will be giving limit prices. So the alert might be:
SPY bear long triggered a 2nd entry for the next day open with a
buy limit order at 392 or better - meaning you will use a limit
order and at times the trade MAY not fill that day!
otherwise it's a long process and tedious but it's yielding
answers and will be beneficial. Especially if I add say 5 or 10
ETFs, logistically trying to get those signals out the last few min
of the day is too much, best to have the signals that afternoon and
you have all night to see them and enter the following
day.

Totally agree. Often times there are better entries the next day or AH and sometimes you get gap and go and miss the boat but it is what it is.
