Been working on something

noticed what appears to be an angle for day trading a few high gapping stops, been keeping a spreadsheet of it. did 2 trades this morning so far all winners. I'll share at a later time after I have more details, for now just building up some stats and trade numbers to prove that it's consistent

    so here's a little bit

so here's a little bit about what I'm doing. I've noticed that stocks that are gapping huge in the morning, typically the bigger the better, I don't care if the gap is 30%, 50%, 100% a big strong pre market gap is important. Also volume important, I want to see at least a million shares traded pre market, but best to see like 5 million and above

For me CST the pre market time starts at 7 am. Around 8 am 30 min before the open I look to see where the pre market high is on these gapping stocks, typically I'll only have 2 - 4 candidates. I'll then place a buy stop limit order for these stocks at the open for an order that expires that day, NOT GTC.  I place my limit order 1 penny or so above the buy stop, or a few pennies if it's a larger priced stock. So if I I see a pre market high of 2, I'll place a buy stop limit at 2.01 and 2.02. Once these are filled if they fill, typically I'm able to sell a big check the first few min, they go fast.

been keeping a record of the trades the last 2 weeks - I show the first 5 min trigger bar and high on the table. I'm showing $10K per trade. Then I show a second high. Typically though I'm out most on that first 5 min candle. Here's a couple chart examples of ones I did today SEAC, HGEN

    I am intrigued by these

I am intrigued by these Gap-up set-ups. On most days, I'd be done with the trades before my 2nd cup of coffee. Screening for trade candidates is my stumbling block, however. I know you use Finviz [I do too], but getting extended-hours data is restricted to "Elite" members. Have you bitten the bullet and become "elite," or are you using some other screening technique to find your gap-up candidates. Your longtime member, Don Sadler

    Does the MACD cross become

Does the MACD cross become part of the buy/sell plan?

    what I may do eventually

what I may do eventually with those pre market gappers post them before the market open 10 or 20 min, along with the pre market high in case you wanted to play them. What's cool is they seem to  give big trades the first 30 min, typically I'm out if them in 20 seconds to 10 min, done
