also nightmare today with water in my basement - basically kids
were playing with water balloons outside using one of the houses
that is attached to one of the facets on the house. Well the water
line bust and it was all pouring inside the house in the basement
ceiling and falling down through the can recess lights. Big mess
sucking all this up. I may have to take up part of teh wood floor
and re do it, and of course ceiling will need re dry walled etc
Had something similar happen several years ago with an upstairs
laundry tub. Came pouring our of kitchen can lights, lots of
drywall damage. Good news was that our insurance company
actually 'paid' us for our immediate response efforts which counted
towards our deductible. The hours of mopping up water,
pulling back carpets, etc until the professionals could arrive were
assigned a $$ value and reduced our deductible down to a few
hundred bucks. Insurance covered everything else.
