Not to knock a system that is clearly working very well, but I’d
imagine it works better when markets are trending strongly like
they are now. We haven’t experienced a sideways chop recently. Good
systems get through the tough markets as I’m sure this will, but I
mention it because I’ve noticed that some of my own trend-following
systems that I’ve programmed on Tradestation have worked great the
last few years but haven’t faired as well in the past, whereas
mean-reversion systems like Matt’s SPY system significantly
outperformed. Not sure if you have backtest results for KISS via TS
(other than the manual stuff)— I imagine that its more difficult to
come up with.
