I tired once years ago.  I was over my head when I started to trade Corn, Wheat, Soybeans, Live cattle and Hogs.  The moves are tremendous and I learned Live Hogs is thinly traded and I got wiped out in 10 trades.  -$50K in one week.  That was my experience.  I was not prepared for the huge price swings and volatility.   It is a very fast game and expensive education.

    I have never had even one profitable trade in livestock futures. Grains typically make a turn in spring or fall (a.k.a. planting or harvest). We are a little early for that.

    Just looking at the charts the markets seem skeptical of the China trade deal. - NOT meant as a political commentary. 

    I don't see much opportunity at the moment.

    Yeah I'm not trading more than one or two contracts and more than two futures at a time.  I've traded a lot of thinly traded options and its not ideal but you just need to be extra patient to get the orders filled or prepare to push a market order through if necessary.  How long did you usually hold?

    I do not remember.  I just trade SPY option, SPY ETF,  ES futures  and some stocks.  I try to keep it simple.
