don't over think draw down, almost all trades any of us take whether they are system trades or subjective trade ideas, experience some draw down unless we buy at the exact tick low or short the exact tick high which is almost never. If you buy a stock at $10 and it dips to 9.95 that's a small draw down.

For the original SPY system, a few of the sub systems, while highly profitable, had the potential at times to be too aggressive at buying dips and once in a while would buy too early when a stronger market pullback was just starting and could experience 7 - 10% draw down before a bounce finally occurred.  Those were not fun to experience and is what led me to take the system off line for a while to develop the new High Probability version. The new SPY High Probability Systems, I removed or tweaked those few sub systems so that they are much less likely to buy too early or short too early. Of course doesn't mean we still can't have a tough trade now and then. Also we give up some trades as well i.e it's tougher now to trigger the systems, however the breakout sub system is an attempt to catch stronger trends where you don't get much of a pullback, hence the trade we are currently in.

Also the old system was confusing to people with how I sent the trades out, we did something like 50% into the first entry then 30% in the 2nd via SSO and 20% in the third via UPRO. However I would also mention other sub systems, which confused people because they would be like I already have 100% invested, how can I buy more? The new simpler way where we simple enter all trades as they occur without worrying about %'s makes it a lot simpler to follow.

Amount of Capital for SPY System

Matt/Steve, What amount of capital do the $10,000 increments of the SPY system assume? Does it use leverage? i.e. is the assumption that $40,000 in capital is hypothetically available, enabling four legs to the trade, without the use of margin, and $20,000 in hypothetically available capital assuming 50% margin?  Apologies if you've already addressed this question elsewhere. Thanks,

    Got it and thanks, Happy
