I trade on a desktop PC, but have a laptop nearby for monitoring
this blog and as a backup.
I found a great alternative to a KVM switch that allows me to
share a keyboard and mouse as well as transfer files seamlessly.
It's not for monitor sharing, but once installed it's as if the
laptop is now part of my multimonitor PC setup. In fact, I can use
either computer's keyboard and mouse to control both computers.
This is a Microsoft download, so I assume it does not work for
Macs.

I have been using MWB for several years, and it works quite
well. I use one mouse and one keyboard to control 4 computers (3
laptops and a desktop) and 4 external monitors.
Free program to use same keyboard and mouse with 2 or more windows computers
