What does "moving averages expansion" mean? do you mean go up?
or separate from each other. I always get out of trades too soon so
i want to clarify that.
BTW what was that small China stock you recommended a few months
ago?
moving average expansion - what Steve and I talk about all the
time - for the last couple of months all the MA's have been
bunched up, (the 9 EMA, 20 MA, 50 MA), that's a time when the
potential exists for a stronger move to occur - basically it's been
in consolidation, so hopefully will come out and trend - when you
see the 9 and 20 start to expand up and get distance away from the
50 and the 50 also start to curl up, that's expansion. Think
about it like a wave, view the MA's as waves. then once the
MA's expand, you look for them to act as support or resistance on
pullbacks depending on the direction
by the way, here's an educational post on this, see the chart
image, but more importantly please watch the video, not just you
but everyone here, it's a very simple concept but powerful
A good example of this was in Crude oil futures today. Here is
the 3 minute chart with arrows showing the expansion and the red
arrow a good place to short when it tested resistance.
here's a stock example of MA expansion - but honestly just look
at the newsletters, we point them out all the time, and AAPS is one
to monitor for it as it's been basing with the saucer bottom
