hello all, I'm going to record my weekend newsletter soon, one
thing I'll discuss is the BPT MA Deluxe trending indicator - I'm
starting to finally finalize some of the improvement to it - most
of the work I've and improvement I've add it it is to have it be
able to trend well to catch a trend without getting whipped out on
noise, but also be able to flip and change quickly in very oversold
conditions and some overbought conditions (though sell signals are
always tougher than buy signals). Recently I've added some
the concepts that are taught in the tutorials via candlestick price
action that allow the indicator to be able to change from a sell
signal to a buy signal very quickly, sometimes 20 - 80 SPX points
earlier than the previous version. Here's a list of charts
from current back to 2008, the new BPT MA Deluxe is the top one
while the original BPT MA Deluxe is plotted below - in most areas I
have marked the price of the SPX where these two indicators changed
and you can compare just how much better and faster my new one can
react to the market. Also I've discussed this before, however
in case you don't know, on the new version of the indicator, when
it turns white or gray - those are times that it goes to cash vs
always being long or short - that helps a lot.
Remember the original BPT MA Deluxe is a exotic moving average,
and while a good one, the limitations are that it lags - in order
to get around the lag, I have incorporated many other indicators
and price action, and even some rules from the SPY system to tell
the indicator to flip when price is very oversold or overbought,
and I don't use these during times when you want the indicator to
hold a trend i.e. the times when you want to use the lag to your
advantage.
My next plan is to add a section of the website dedicated to
this indicator with chart history etc.
matt, from the newsletter description this sounds like it's the
real thing. I can't wait to try it on my own machine. I'm already
using the old version with ninja trader and it is quite
helpful.
Any chance you'll be putting this new version up for download in
March?
here's a daily SPX chart to late 2012 and here's tree random
large cap stops of AAPL, GOOG, and MON, with the same settings
nothing changed, not perfect but pretty good and
profitable
