Some of you have been through
one of the tutorials which show very simple method using old school
TA which focuses mainly on price action to get exact entries and
tight stops, symmetry targets etc - most examples shown were on
daily and weekly charts, however this method can even be used down
to a 15 min ES chart.
Here's a 25 min video I made showing some example of this and how
you could trade small time frames down to a 15 min chart using
these concepts for exact entries with tight initial stops and
defined targets!
nice long trade on ES this morning! entry was 1826.25 with
the initial stop at 1824.75, so only 1 1/2 points. targets
hit at 9 EMA and middle BB and ATR
Hi Matt: Would the wick of the red candle (the candle which
broke the PP, 2 candles before your trigger candle), have triggered
an entry on the 50% rule and then a subsequent stop out? Did this
meet the entry requirements?
nick - yes that could have triggered, I didn't on mine because I
had my order in a tick higher, sometimes I use a tick higher than
the middle if I feel that it's not ready

Awesome. Matt, I realize that the concept is the same for going
short, but if you get a chance to do a similar video for the short
side, that would be greatly appreciated.
Too bad I didn't see a tutorial like this when I started trading
futures on my own. That was painful.
Yes I will cover shorts eventually - shorts are a trickier
beast, you see this all the time in trading - topping tends to be a
different process than bottoming (which tends to be quick fast
event), whereas topping is more of a process. For shorts it's
best to look for some divergences or a pattern or if price is
really stretched away from the 9 EMA too much it will come back to
it - There's a few things I look for to help that I will discuss in
a later video
Video showing how the Tutorial concepts can be applied even down to a 15 min ES chart for very low risk trades

Nice one Matt.
That required quite some patience in stalking the correct entry and not chasing price and entering at a non optimal time!!
Matt, What is the blue/red large

Matt,
What is the blue/red large line indicator on that chart?

CL this morning for 57 ticks!

2 contracts long netted 57 ticks with this method. I think I got this right..
long at 93.51. target 1 at 93.74 (9EMA)
I had 93.85 as target 2 (resistance level)
Nice Trade, Lars. You put

Nice Trade, Lars. You put 32 Ticks at risk, which is quite a bit. But a 57 tick-reward is beautiful.....
At the moment it seems that a short on ES at 1831 is setting up
Awesome. Matt, I realize that

Great video Matt. I always take away something from the tutorials y'all put out. Now, to implement them with some discipline and try it out on /TF..
