sbwoman- there are
no direct ETF's to the Shanghai Index, at least that trade on the
US exchange. FXI doesn't follow it at all. CAF, PEK,
PGJ have some correlation to it as they have exposure to the
Shanghai index, but not 100%. PEK probably has the best
correlation, but of course trades by appointment at 5000 shares per
day on average
I realize there are no good ETFs to play Shanghai, except for
maybe CAF, but there are some stocks like GSH and ACH (that
comprise the top 50 stocks in the SSEC) that look like they have
formed bases and may benefit from a continued Shanghai composite
recovery....

$SSEC - Chart Link - Finally breaking out of the channel, positive divergence was in place
$SSEC - Chart Link - another daily view but this shows back to 2008, it logically bounced off the bottom of the channel trendline
$SSEC - Chart Link - weekly view, shows that it bounced off the lower channel trendline
